BENNING'S WAR By Jeffrey M. Keenan

This is a story set during the American revolution and of one sergeants mental and physical battles during it. Sergeant Isaac Benning watched his comrade's slaughter in the Battle of the Waxhaws and reurned home shortly after. Accompanied by his brothers, he sets off to warn settlers of Indian raids that were spurred on by the British Army in an attempt to end the revolt against the crown. They befriend three orphaned children and take them home to the Benning homestead. Shortly after his arrival, he is persuaded to reenlist and is off to aid in the American cause once more. This time he is reluctantly accompanied by his younger brother Joseph. This was a very well written tale and a pleasure to read. Once started it was hard to put down until the last page. It gave a good look into the life of a soldier and the effects of war on the individual as well as those around them. I highly recommend this book and it is available at www.epress-online.com

Chaos by Felecia Ellis

When office manager Donna Pritchard is found murdered everyone is a suspect, and glad to be rid of her. It is up to Detective David Wilson to sort through everyone's motive and find the killer. Just like all great mysteries, just when you think you have it figured out, you get thrown another curveball that leaves you guessing up till the last page. Mrs. Ellis did a great job at keeping me wondering who it could be, and reading up to the very end. She did a great job of setting the scenes and made me feel like I was right in the story. The characters were very believable and well thought out. The story moved along at a good pace and didn't lag in action. This was a very good book and I look forward to reading Mrs. Ellis's other book Mistaken Murder.   This book is available at Amazon.com.

Mistaken Murder  by Felecia Ellis

When Jeff Harris returns home from a business trip, he finds his wife Francis has been murdered.  Detectives David Wilson and Liz Coleman are determined to find the killer and bring him to justice.  This is not easy, since there are virtually no clues, and it appears that everyone loved Francis.  When it is discovered that she was pregnant, the case becomes personal for the Detectives.  Felecia has brought back characters from her first book, Chaos, in this very well written story of murder and whodunnit.  The story draws the reader in from page one and keeps them in suspense right up to the moment the killer is brought to justice.  I was left guessing right up to the surprise twist at the end.  Felecia did a great job of making the characters come to life and making the reader feel like they are right there watching the events unfold. It was a very enjoyable read and I can't wait to see what she has in store next.  This book is available at Amazon.com and Lulu.com.

The Magic And The Mundane: A Guide For The Writers Journey  by P. June Diehl

Esumera and her cat Mystique guide you the beginning writer through the journey of discovering the inner muse through the publication process.  This book covers all topics in the writing process, in a manner which is easy to understand and follow.  June wrote this book in a manner that makes the writer feel as though he is having a fireside chat with Esumera.  It is in no way preachy like most textbooks.  I highly recommend this book for anyone learning the writing technique.  This book is available at Lulu.com or June's site: Iwriteforyou.org
